A friendly and structured introduction to the German language for absolute beginners

This course is designed for complete beginners who want to start learning German in a clear, structured, and engaging way. Students gradually build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

The course follows the official CEFR A1 level and focuses on practical language use from the very first lesson.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to introduce themselves, communicate in everyday situations, and understand basic German conversations.

Course Modules

  • Module 1: Introduction to German sounds and alphabet โ€“ Learn the German alphabet, pronunciation rules, and basic sounds to build a strong foundation.
  • Module 2: Greetings, introductions, and basic phrases โ€“ Practice saying hello, introducing yourself, asking and answering simple questions.
  • Module 3: Numbers, colors, days, and family โ€“ Learn essential vocabulary for everyday life including numbers, colors, days of the week, and family members.
  • Module 4: Articles and simple sentence structure โ€“ Understand basic grammar, including definite/indefinite articles and constructing simple sentences.
  • Module 5: Verbs in the present tense โ€“ Conjugate common verbs in the present tense and use them in everyday conversations.
  • Module 6: Asking and answering simple questions โ€“ Learn how to formulate questions and respond appropriately in different situations.
  • Module 7: Listening and pronunciation practice โ€“ Develop listening skills with audio exercises, and practice pronunciation to improve speaking confidence.
  • Module 8: Final project โ€“ simple dialogue and presentation โ€“ Apply all learned skills to create a short dialogue and present it, demonstrating listening, speaking, and writing abilities.

Preparation before the first lesson

To get the most out of the course, students should prepare the following:

  • A notebook and pen for vocabulary and exercises
  • Headphones with a microphone for online lessons
  • A quiet place for learning
  • Motivation and curiosity to learn a new language

No previous German knowledge is required.
